Information from April 2007 shows that a Cooking Assistant’s earnings were between $24,286 and $30,402, Executive Chefs were between $55,482 and $84,575, Executive Pastry Chefs made between $44,516 and $66,693, Sous-Chefs earned between $31,670 and $49,243, Food Scientists made between $47,031 and $71,497, and Line Cooks earned between $19,243 and $25,194.

If you have a passion for cooking, then this is a great field to get into. It can take long hours and hard work to get to the top of the field, but can pay for itself as a rewarding career in the food industry. Not only is there the potential to make good money, but think about the enjoyment you can bring to people who love to eat fine cuisine made by fine chefs! The chef salary will vary, but you will have the opportunity to earn more depending upon your area of study and where you decide to work as a chef.
